I hadn't heard that one, but I love The Killers (and Satan's Fingers, and The Hospital Bums, and every other death metal band out of Denton.) They're certainly more owrthy successors than most other bands out right now, but I still hold out hope for Belle and Sebastian, as anyone who hasn't listened to The Life Pursuit is yet to be reborn.
You can never start imitating the Boss too soon!
Speaking of music and trends, I was just looking back at our 'summer favorites' post, and I'm pretty pleased with these became pop-chart successes:
Gnarls Barkley, "Crazy"
Shakira, "Hips Don't Lie"
Christina Aguilera, "Ain't No Other Man"
I take particular pleasure in the Aguilera, confirming my decision in 1999 to side with her against the Britney Robot.
