MLB is back

Here we are in the afternoon April 2, and baseball resumes in about two hours with the Cleveland Indians at the Chicago White Sox. Our dear Boston Red Sox start play against the Texas Rangers tomorrow.
Care to put your reputation on the line and give me season predictions? Go to it!

Predictions - The Boston Red Sox will not only win the American league, but due to interleague play, the National league as well. As this would make for an awkward world series, Selig will pay the poorest National league team to be the whipping boy for the next four games.

And then peace and happiness will prevail.

White Sox clobber the Indians in their Opening Day Home Opener, 10-4. Good stuff, but there are many more games to play. This team is really great, they don't dwell in the past... always looking ot the future, and never patting themselves on the back too much. I see good things for them.

In other news, I still can't accept this.

Ugh.

In related news, Red Sox win their opener in Texas, 7-3.

Go Sox!

(Both of them)

That is all.

It was exhilerating to watch Yahoo! update every 30 seconds with the BoSox-Rangers game to keep me company while I was making up a test for my students. Although I admit to missing the old faves -- Damon in CF, Millar at 1B, Billy Mueller at 3B, and the O.C. at SS.

Schill looked good in the opener, as did the Red Sox lineup. I'll take it!
