Comments Sidebar as Design Experiment
Hello OptiLand!
I applied a little formatting to the recent comments sidebar, to try to improve scanability. I'm interested to know, what everyone thinks of it... not in a "lookhowgreatIamandallthecoolhtmlcrapIcando" kind of way, but does it help you see the general recent comments "landscape"?
Thanks
P.S.: Congratulations to Pascal's Bookie for having the longest name, thus setting the width of the block that holds the poster's name.

I'm on a Mac OS 9-something right now, and as a result I can't see the comments sidebar. I'm sure it looks fine, though!
My one suggestion would be to make it so that the post title stays aligned even after it spills onto the next line.
Otherwise, the new format is definitely a visual improvement
Well, I figured a way to alight the titles, too... and I had to tweak the Archives styling a little, because the comments sidebar was flowing right over the Archives.... so... more scotch tape and rubber bands, and we're looking alright.
Next: OptiLand 2.0!
That is all.
Just a test to see if we can trick the Javascript into printing a ' in someone's name.
Booya!
okay, but doesn't this make the name come up as HTML everywhere else?
Of course, now the "Post Comment" window won't display it correctly. But its still progress.
This is the opposite of progress. I'm going back to my old ways.
Just go with the JavaScript way of denotation:

That'll fix yer wagon.
You whiny bitch...
Actually, that's something I hope to make room for in version 2.0. We're talking about redoing the look and feel of the whole site.
It oughtta be great.
For now, I think we're gonna stick with how it is. It's a damn sight better than what was there before.
