Why I don't like Hillary: Because of BS like this. Is she an unprincipled politician or is she a nascent fascist? Richard Cohen asks the question, albeit more delicately than me.
Memo to the Democratic Party: do not nominate this woman. Actually, wait, let me take that back. Democrats, nominate this woman. Republicans, nominate Guiliani or McCain. That should do it.

I admit, I do still like Hillary, though with every month she's making it harder for me to do so. Her attempts at reforming the health care system were smart, well-needed, but ultimately failed due to naivete about how deep insurance companies reach is within Washington. She used to have fairly liberal views on politics and has a realistic view on abortion that I agree with, that is that abortion is awful, but is still a necessary evil in this world. Ever since she's started running for president, though, she's tried too hard to be liked by everyone and comes off as opportunistic. A lot of the criticism against her has and always has had an undercurrent of misogyny, which makes me want to spring to her aid, but seriously? She's just starting to back laws that she thinks will make her more popular. It's misguided and not going to help her popularity at all. She could also learn a thing or two about charisma from her wayward husband.

That said, she'll never get the democratic nomination. Conservative democrats see her as evil, and liberal ones will hate her for stunts like this flag-burning crap. And Josh? Don't get me started on Giuliani. He did a lot for my city, but also helped to bankrupt it, and has a black-and-white view of the world that's a little too Bush-like for me.

I threw in Giuliani as a better breed of Republican when compared to, say, Santorum.

Fair enough. Though I'm a little annoyed at McCain for stumping for Santorum recently. Damn party politics!
